The Waverly High School tradition of excellence was on full display on the collegiate volleyball court as two Waverly Tiger alumni squared off as opponents.
Sidney Johnson (WHS Class of 2026), a freshman outside hitter majoring in nursing for the University of Pikeville Bears, met Kelli Stewart (WHS Class of 2023), a senior right-side hitter majoring in business for the University of Rio Grande Red Storm.
The competitive 5-set match saw UPIKE come out on top, but both former Tigers delivered impressive performances, including Sidney recording her first official collegiate kill against Kelli!

It was a proud moment for the Waverly community to see these outstanding student-athletes competing at the collegiate level and sharing the court once again.
