Dear Waverly City School District Community,
It is with a heavy heart that we share the news of the passing of Larry Childers, former member of our school family.
Larry served our district for over 20 years in two profoundly impactful roles—ensuring our students' safety every day as a dedicated bus driver, and maintaining the very foundation of our school buildings as a skilled carpenter.
Throughout his career, his hard work, warm smile, loud laugh, and kind spirit touched the lives of countless students, teachers, and staff members across the Waverly City School District.
Whether he was greeting students at the bus door to start their day with encouragement or joking with staff members, Larry embodied the true spirit of Tiger Pride.
We extend our deepest condolences to Larry’s family, friends, and all those who love him during this difficult time. Tiger Nation mourns his loss, but we will remain grateful for his years of service and friendship.
