WAVERLY HIGH SCHOOL ART STUDENTS SHOWCASE WORK AT ADENA HOSPITAL

Congratulations to incoming senior Paige O’Bryant for breaking a 44-year-old record previously held by Jaki Good Miller in the 200M! With an outstanding time of 25.4 seconds, Paige has established a new school record of 25.23 seconds. Additionally, she earned 8th place in the long jump at the OHSAA Track & Field State Championship!

Jocey brought boundless energy and imagination to our drama club. Before Jocey fell ill, she requested to perform 10 Ways to Survive the Zombie Apocalypse—and even before we chose it, she had already written her own unique list of survival strategies, full of wit and creativity.
"We selected the play with Jocey in mind, and after she was no longer able to audition, it was reimagined as Jocey’s 10 ways to survive—a tribute woven with her humor, her voice, and her spirit. She was looking forward to watching her story come to life on stage.
After Jocey’s passing, the production was initially canceled out of respect. However, at her family's heartfelt request, we are moving forward with the performance in her honor. They shared that Jocey would have wanted the show to go on—and we agree. Now, we perform not just for fun, but as a tribute to Jocey’s spirit, creativity, and love for the stage. Let’s pack the house for Jocey.
We don’t just perform a play. We celebrate a remarkable young person whose creativity continues to inspire us. Thank you for being here and helping us fill the theater with the love and laughter Jocey gave so freely. " Drama Director Mrs. Megan Smith

Meanwhile, the junior team (Ryker Johnson, Paige O’Bryant, Quinn Shaffer, Keelee Rapp, and Wyeth Baker) finished pool play with a 1-2 record and experienced a narrow loss in the quarterfinals against Wheelersburg team 2, falling short by just 4 points, or the equivalent of one question.
